beneath the cherry blossoms

IMG_3262

Every spring, I always dream of sleeping underneath these trees.
To wake up to a sky covered with cherry blossoms.

The wind is too chilly around here and I'm still nursing a cold so any plans of frolicking outdoors will have to wait until I'm feeling better. Last week I bought a box of loose leaf tea sampler and a little teapot that I am now putting to good use.

Current tea loves: Green Mango Peach and Earl Grey.

A movie that I love inspired me to listen to Erik Satie once again.
I think Gymnopédie No. 1 is one of the most sublime piece of music ever created.

Have a wonderful Easter, my friends. Dream well.

    1. Holly, for some reason Gnossine No. 1 makes me sad so I don't listen to it often. Its very evocative.

  3. Oh, those cherry blossom trees are so wonderful! I hope you are feeling better now! Having a cold is never a fun thing... I like the Gymnopédie No. 1 by Eric Satie so much too, it's such a beautiful piece of music. Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog - here is a link on how to make origami birds:

I learned to make paper cranes by watching it a few times. I think it's a great tutorial :) I hope you will like it too. Good luck with making paper birds :)

  8. That was the adagio to my ballet class in college. We had a piano player named robert. He was blind and we danced in they very old building with no elevators so he always had someone walk him up the stairs. When he would walk in my primary ballet teacher would say "hello Rrrrob-ert" in her Brazilian accent, the accent on the "ert" in his name. Then she would turn and say "hello, companion of Rrrrob-ert." Robert would get settled and we would start warming up. Sometimes we could say to him, sneak over to his piano before class, what sort of music we were feeling like. I always said Debussy because I loved to dance to him. He'd play exactly what the teacher wanted with rhythm and such, but with a little flair towards whatever composer you wanted. It was the best. That song always reminds me of him.

    1. Awwww...that's a sweet story, Elizabeth. Robert sounds like a wonderful man and how lucky that you guys have your own piano player. We only dance to recorded music because the advanced students have a class at the same time as ours and we only have one piano player at our school. But we did have him play for us one time during the summer and I swear we all danced so much better.
